Šolta is the name of a beautiful island in Croatia that is the birthplace of Julie’s grandfather Miljenko (Mick) Garbin.

Mick and his brother were amongst the first migrants from Croatia to buy land and create a farm also called ŠOLTA in Western Australia in 1908. Our family still has a strong spiritual connection to Gornje Selo the beautiful tiny village that is still home to many Garbins. We chose to use Solta Homewares as our business name because of this connection.

For the past 5.5 years, Solta has been the proud Western Australian distributors of Pop and Scott pots which were created and designed by our daughter Poppy.

Since 2013, Poppy and her partner Scott combined their artistic talents to create beautiful things and now enjoy notoriety amongst stylists and designers both locally and internationally. Recently Pop and Scott have consolidated their product offerings and have opted to discontinue selling pots whilst directing their energies to develop further their stunning range of lighting and furniture products.

Following on in Poppy’s footsteps and with her encouragement, ŠOLTA has now created an exclusive Western Australian range of hand-drawn and hand-painted planters to complement our beautiful part of the world.

The planters have an organic look and feel and the colours chosen are inspired by the glowing colours and rustic tones of our ancient landscape.
